Kia Orana
Welcome to my official website. My name is Ella Nicholas and I am a canoe slalom athlete and medical student. In 2011 I qualified a place for the 2012 London Olympic Games and also completed my 3rd year of medical school at the University of Otago.
In my endeavour to achieve the best result I possibly could, I have withdrew from my medical studies for the 2012 year. I spent the year training for and competing at the 2012 London Olympic Games at which i finished 18th. I have proudly represented the Cook Islands in canoe slalom since 2006.
I have now returned to my medical studies in New Zealand and am in my 4th year at the University of Otago Christchurch campus. On this website you can keep up to date with all of my latest adventures in New Zealand, Australia London and Europe.

The Olympics are over for another four years but there are some exciting things happening in our sport back in New Zealand. The Trust behind the WERO project supported me in my Olympic campaign and now I urge everyone to get behind them to convince the Auckland Council that a white water centre is a great opportunity for Manukau and the rest of New Zealand. You can help the cause and stay in touch by 'liking' the WERO facebook page.
